Things are ok. I’m still working for the big hotel chain, Rachael’s got a friend over and it’s the weekend.

It’s amazing how life can change in the matter of a few months. I don’t think I have the energy to write much more than that right now.

It was cool experiencing the Ritz Carlton hotel last month in Halfmoon Bay. My manager Tiffany and I went and we toured the hotel. That was neat because now I have a better understanding of how to present the rooms to guests when they call me up. We had food from their fine dining restaurant Navio and their club level. The food was amazing I didn’t know chocolate cupcakes could taste that good. The sunday brunch had everything from breakfast items to sushi. We even toured a goat farm and I got to see Dad for about an hour.
It was cool hearing the ocean from my room. The windows didn’t have screens on them so when I reached out, I felt the rain on my hand.
Thanksgiving and Christmas were good too. Nicki’s through training at IHC and is back to doing medical transcription from home. Rachael’s enjoying first grade and as for me, I’m still doing the same old things. Have a Happy New Year!
Still Here
October 29th, 2010Things are going good here in Utah. I’m still working my 2 jobs and Nicki will start training at IHC on Monday. She’s going to be doing medical transcription for them. It seems that the company is tired of sending the work to India and correcting what it gets back.
I’m going to the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay in a week. I’m going with one of our managers Tiffany. She has a boy friend and I’ve got a wife, so it’s fine. We don’t have a choice in going or not. They’re sending us out to experience what it’s like at the Ritz Carlton so we can better sell their property. I’m glad we get separate rooms on the trip. It still doesn’t stop family members from asking things like, “So when are you going out of town with the other woman?”
Other than that, things are going as usual around here. Rachael’s enjoying her new school and it’s starting to feel like winter around here. Where did fall go?

It’s funny how time flies when you’re going through life. Rachael started first grade last month and she loves it. Nicki and I got another year older last week. As part of our birthdays we went to the Peter Cetera concert which was great. Other than that, not much new to report.
Update From Utah
August 7th, 2010Hi guys,
Things have been pretty much normal for the last little while. I’m still working for Marriott weekdays and Liberty News Radio on Saturdays. Nicki’s working for 2 companies doing transcription work. Rachael finished kindergarten last month. She got Student Of The Month last September and really enjoyed her class. She was accepted in to a talented and gifted program at a different school. She passed the tests for it and she’ll be learning at a faster rate than her friends. She starts first grade later this month.
Last year we saw The Eagles in concert with Michelle Branch. We flew out to California where we saw Michael Franks in concert and Rachael got to go to the beach for the first time. Last February, Nicki and I also got to see Billy Joel and Elton John together. That was cool.
My mom and step dad moved out here last year. It’s good to have them close by. That’s pretty much it for now. Hope everybody’s doing good. Talk to you all later.

Catching Up
June 22nd, 2010Our fridge went out last month. I would think that the repair guy would come by and replace a $50 part and it’s good as new. It’s just like my electronic gear I’ve got in my studio right? You’re wrong. He said the the compressor is bad and he needs to replace it for $360. There’s more good news. For only $450 total we can get a new one. That’s what we ended up doing. That’s one appliance you can’t live without.
My dad and step mom came out last month and we had a good visit with them. I told Mom the other day that even though her and Dad are divorced all of my friends still ask how my parents are doing. Work’s going ok. I booked a couple of rooms for a lady that were each 319 days in length. She needed a backup hotel. Unfortunately she canceled both of them between last night and this morning. It looked really good on my stats for yesterday. The numbers were through the roof.
Rachael graduated from kindergarten at the beginning of this month and is enjoying summer vacation. Oh to be young again with not much to do.

Where did April go? Easter was good and the month in general was good. My hours increased at the radio network, so instead of working from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm I’m now working from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Sure it’s more money but the hardest part is unwinding after getting off of work.
I have a double tape deck that I got for a birthday present back in 1990. In 1992 the right channel on the play side went out. I had a dj gig or 2 that summer where I had to use the deck. I got it fixed and life was good.
Now where most people have gotten rid of their tapes, I still have mine and I occasionally use my deck for the podcast. Last night after 18 years, the same problem happened. Why now? I’ll give the Japanese credit they can make stuff that lasts a while.March 31st, 2010
I’ve been reading some good books lately. Things like the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weiss and Tracy
Hickman. The books are about people going on quests, fighting evil dragons, that kind of thing. Of course you have a
mixture of humans, dwarves and elves to go along with it.
I’ve also been reading the Womens Murder Club
series by James Patterson. I recently finished Mr. Midshipman Hornblower by C.S. Forester which was pretty
good.
I rarely put any books down. Last year on one of the radio talk shows I engineered for we had a
fassinating interview. I borrowed the book from the library and began reading. I was hoping this was going to be a
fantastic read. Unfortunately it turned in to what felt like a science textbook dryer than what I experienced in school. I
have to say most of the books I read are great. Some are just kind of average.
I enjoy getting braille books
from the library and reading them to Rachael. She likes the Ramona books from Beverly Cleary. She also enjoyed
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.
March 31st, 2010
Rachael just lost her first tooth. Nicki put it in to a little plastic sandwich bag.
March 31st, 2010
When I was working at the radio network last Saturday, I got a call from Rachael. She has her first loose tooth. She’s been wiggling it and she wants it to come out.
March 21st, 2010
Not much has changed lately. Rachael’s enjoying kindergarten and she seems to have more of a social life than her parents. She had one of the neighbor girls sped the night this last Friday and they had a blast. Fortunately they got to bed in fairly good time.
As for Rachael’s parents, we’re doing good. I’m working some overtime at each of my jobs this next week to try and get some extra money. It’s either earn some extra money or go stark raving mad, which ever comes first I guess. Nicki’s still doing the transcription and that’s going good too. That’s it for now.
February 28th, 2010
Things are going ok. Nicki’s laptop is getting fixed. The backspace key broke off so we’re down to sharing a computer. It hasn’t been so bad. Still working and working some more.
Sick Of Being Sick
February 10th, 2010I’ve had this cough for about a month and a half. I spent most of tonight at the instacare getting medicine to make me feel better. It’s been hard sleeping, almost like a restless sleep the last couple nights. Hopefully this stuff will get me feeling better. The only way that I’ve been able to sleep the last few nights is to be propped up a little on the couch.
